MouseTube in the media
In 2022, MouseTube was awarded the Science Ouverte (Open Science) prize for research data by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
Following the open science prize of 2022, Savoir(s), the daily newspaper of the University of Strasbourg, carried an interview.

The MouseTube platform respects your privacy and complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data Collected and Displayed

MouseTube may display limited personal data associated with audio files referenced on the platform, including:

  • Full names of contributors
  • Email
  • Academic or professional addresses (optionally)

This information is provided voluntarily by users for scientific attribution and collaboration.

2. Legal Basis

The publication of personal data on MouseTube is based on:

  • Explicit consent given at the time of submission, and/or
  • The legitimate interest of promoting transparency in scientific research.

3. Data Retention

MouseTube does not host the actual data files. It only stores references (links) to external repositories where the data are hosted.

These links remain visible and accessible on MouseTube as long as they are valid and publicly available, unless the data owner requests their removal.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at: mousetube@igbmc.fr

5. Hosting and Security

MouseTube does not host the data files themselves. Instead, it provides curated links to externally hosted datasets, typically stored on institutional repositories or other trusted platforms.

These links and associated contributor information are publicly visible for transparency and scientific attribution. While the platform is openly accessible, administrative actions such as editing or removing content are restricted to authorized users to ensure data integrity and security.

MouseTube does not use any tracking or analytics cookies.

MouseTube is a collaborative database dedicated to mouse ultrasonic communication. It collects and shares ultrasonic vocalization recordings with the scientific community.

1. Data Usage and Ownership

Data uploaded to MouseTube remain the property of the originating laboratory. However, by uploading, the contributor grants permission to all MouseTube users to use the data for analysis and scientific publications.

Contributors are fully responsible for the content of uploaded files and the accuracy of the associated metadata.

2. Data Sharing and Accessibility

All data on MouseTube are openly available to the community. Anyone can download and use the data in accordance with these terms.

3. Citation Requirement

Any use of MouseTube data in publications must include the following citation:
